Global Press Institute: New Philanthropic Partner
Plant Aid is honored to announce that it has brought on Global Press as its new philanthropic partner. Global Press exists to create a more just and informed world by training and then employing local female journalists to produce ethical, accurate news from the world’s least-covered places. Global Press was founded in 2006 to offer a counterpoint to the disaster-driven narrative that the 24-hour news cycle prioritizes and legacy media perpetuates. Its network of professional, local reporters works within a robust editorial structure to produce integrity-rich, accurate journalism that features local voices, deep context and nuanced analysis on topics rarely covered elsewhere. Global Press reporters specialize in environmental and agricultural coverage, which is syndicated to an audience of more than 20 million people across 100 countries every month.
Plant Aid partnered with Global Press due to the incredible impact that the organization makes around the world, particularly in the agriculture space where it continues to draw attention to otherwise overlooked situations and events. Additionally, Plant Aid is very proud to support an organization that truly empowers females around the world who aren’t afraid to report the facts on the ground. Jake Piccoli, CEO & Managing Member of Plant Aid comments: “The world needs more organizations like Global Press. This organization has an amazing mission and is run by some of the strongest females on the face of the planet. It is truly rewarding to be in a position to help such an inspiring organization. We look forward to growing alongside Global Press for years to come.”
In this relationship, Plant Aid will donate a portion of its profits annually to support Global Press’ many initiatives around the world. Additionally, the two organizations will also look to explore additional ways to work together and benefit one another. Cristi Hegranes, CEO & Publisher of Global Press comments: “Global Press is committed to ethical, investigative global reporting about agriculture and the environment. So we’re thrilled to work with an organization that is committed to bringing integrity to environmental innovation.”
